YES. I have seen this picture going around. Do people really think the media is underreporting crimes committed against white people? Really? For fuck’s sake. Excellent response here. If I were you, I would keep posting it over and over again until she deletes the picture. -Jess

I agree. The response is brilliant. How does someone not understand that? Worse, how does someone reject that information after having it provided to them in such a rational manner? urgh.

I just sent this to my mum. There was a news item about Trayvon the other day and after it finished mum decided to bring up the story of the two white tourists murdered by the black teenager. This is what I tried to explain to my mum, that there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE. She was all like, “oh yes I agree, but it’s not just white people killing black people, it goes both ways.” 

Don’t get me wrong, I love my mum to bits, but after becoming so aware of this institutionalized racism, it’s hard to be tolerant of ignorance. 

Oh, and I totally understand the frustration of putting up a polite, rational, cogent argument to something a facebook friend posts, and them deleting it. Personally, I find it as one of the rudest and most insulting things you can do. They have DELETED your opinion, your say. It infuriates me.
