I’m all for women’s rights and stuff but like some people take it too far idk like obviously there are things that we need to work on as a society and there’s a whole lot wrong with societies views of women and the way we are expected to act but like a 12 year old girl was shot in the face for trying to go to school in Afghanistan?? idk in America we have it pretty good I guess I feel like a lot of the time ppl are just looking for something to complain about

Or when Marissa Alexander was sentenced to 20 years for firing a warning shot from a gun she legally owned at her abuser who was threatening to kill her, 9 days after giving birth?

Or when CeCe McDonald was put into prison for DEFENDING HERSELF AGAINST A NEO-NAZI TRYING TO KILL HER?

Or when South Carolina sterilized over 7,000 people, mostly Black women?

Or when Regina McKnight, Laura Pemberton, Rachel Lowe, Martina Greywind, Michelle Marie Greenup, and countless other women have been thrown in jail for being PREGNANT?

Today a guy came in to my work with a parcel that had a street address and then just ‘MN’. I pointed at the blank bottom line that has “COUNTRY:” written on it, and asked “And what country is MN in?” even though I knew it must be America because of the guy’s accent. He looked at me blankly and then said “The United States of America, Miss. Don’t they teach you geography here?”

The moral of this story is: people outside of America don’t give a shit about American states 90% of the time, don’t be an arrogant ass when you go overseas.

Sometimes the America-centricness overwhelms me on tumblr (and the rest of the internet). And I keep getting pissed off when websites ask you for your address (when signing a petition, say) ask for your State (and of course NZ doesn’t have states) or postcode, but tells you that your postcode is invalid unless it’s a fucking US postcode. Like, I get it, the States are huge, but they’re not the centre of the world (well except on pretty much every goddamn map). Anyways, I know that feel, bro. That guy sounded like a class A douchebag.

Reloading could put a damper on your shooting spree. Today’s guns can fire hundreds of rounds per minute.

I doubt that the writers of the Constitution could even conceive of a “shooting spree”, and they almost certainly would have written this amendment differently had they had modern weapons to content with. We are supposed to be smart people. We should be able to come up with some kind of modern version of this amendment that doesn’t suck.
