aboutmaleprivilege:

Male privilege is assuming that women try to look good to impress men or to compete with other women for male attention - god forbid they actually like looking good for themselves.

"Women who are too sexual aren’t taken seriously, and women who aren’t sexual enough aren’t taken seriously. Women who are conventionally attractive get valued solely for their sexual appeal; women who aren’t conventionally attractive get dismissed for their lack of it. Women who are conventionally attractive are assumed to be dumb bimbos; women who aren’t conventionally attractive are assumed to be either bitter or desperate. Women who are conventionally attractive get trivialized; women who aren’t conventionally attractive get treated with pity and contempt. We can’t win."

Women telling you not to objectify them, leer at them, oggle them, or overall be a creepy asshat IS NOT telling you that you’re not allowed to look at them, period, or that you’re not allowed to find them attractive!

If you can’t differentiate between finding someone attractive or just looking at them because they happen to be in your line of sight from staring at our bodies and very obviously sexualizing us in the most uncomfortable, creepy fashion possible, this is YOUR problem, not ours!

"Now I want to be very clear that there is nothing wrong with wanting to be attractive or sexy. Just about everybody wants this. What’s wrong is that this is emphasized for girls and women at incredibly young ages, to the exclusion of other important qualities and aspects. Being hot becomes the most important measure of success."
