After hearing about the blog “fuckyeahreadmores”, I’m urging my followers to refrain from tagging their personal posts as “personal” or “read more”. Choose a more unique phrase that can’t be easily searched for, because for some reason there are sick fucks out there searching the ‘read more’ tag.

wow! wow

The thought of starting such a blog crossed my mind awhile ago. It’s trivially easy to write a bot that reblogs everything under a certain tag. Good thing I’m not the kind of jackass who actually does stuff like that.

I want to write one that, once a day, picks a random “Read More” post, reposts it with the content in full view with a link to the source, and pays five dollars to pin it

because op is an idiot

In fact, I can think of so many things I would choose “being raped” over.

  • Do I want cancer or be raped? RAPED! <3
  • Do I want AIDS or be raped? RAPED <3
  • Do I want my family killed by a drone missile or be raped? RAPED <3
  • Do I want to be stabbed in the face with a knife or raped? RAPED <3
  • Do I want my entire community burned alive or raped? RAPED <3

And the list goes on and on. I even go as far as to say: I would choose any woman I love to be raped over any of those things above too <3

The point is. Tumblr Feminist, stop behaving like rape is the worst thing that could ever be done to anyone.

Am I trying to belittle rape? You bet cha! :) Because you gals, have amplified, exaggerated and overestimated the grave crime of rape, so I have to reduce it down a few notches to its proper place in the list of “HORRIBLE THINGS THAT CAN HAPPEN TO SOMEONE” :)

That is all.

Having someone stepping over your rights, using you, touching you, all without your consent, it’s not that bad?? I mean, yes, cancer is terrible, I lost a family member because of cancer. But you can’t really avoid it from happening, you can get treatment and prevent it from spreading, but it just happens. Rape CAN be avoided, and the kind of attitude from OP, is what makes rape happen. Thinking it’s not that bad, is just too close to thinking it’s fine.

OP seems unable to realise that feminists actually talk about how bad all those issues are, we talk about how drone strikes are disgusting, we talk about how violence and STD’s and cancer are horrific. The difference is, when we talk about rape, we are speaking against a cultural acceptance that says rape isn’t so bad, rape is our fault, something we made happen. Nobody believes that you brought cancer upon yourself, so the discourses are naturally different. OP is fucking stupid, and can’t grasp that you can care about more than one issue.

Aside from OP belittling people’s trauma when he clearly has no fucking idea, he seems unable to grasp the fact that sometimes people DO get HIV from rape, and sometimes people ARE stabbed in the face during violent rape.

Like, does he think rape is just this airy-fairy thing with no physical or psychological consequences? Fucking basic.

Until you yourself have been raped, your opinion means nothing, because you don’t know what it’s like. You have a vague abstract understanding, but you don’t understand, and so you don’t know what you would prefer, you piece of shit.

didsomebodysay:

but really if you think a person who falsely accuses someone of rape is JUST AS VILE as an ACTUAL RAPIST than you can go die in a ditch

No, I don’t think someone that falsely accuses someone of rape is just as vile as a rapist. I think they’re worse.

If I got up every single day and raped someone while they were chained to a wall for fifteen years to life I might be on par with a false accuser.

See, because the false accusers, the real ones… they’re the ones that aren’t discovered to be falsely accusing. The ones that are found out? Those are ATTEMPTED false accusers… and are closer to attempted rape… or attempted any other crime.

But the real false accusers put someone, unjustly, in prison for years, sometimes decades. Someone who will endure intense emotional torture, suffering, grief and anguish. Someone who will possibly be the victim of rape themselves, often repeatedly, for years on end. Someone who will lose their friends, their family, their income. Their children, parents and former friends will look upon them in disgust. They will be branded with a scarlet letter for the rest of their natural lives.

And this is the important part, because the false accuser duplicates their crime EVERY SINGLE DAY. Every single day they persist in the lie they punish their victim once more.

And for the act of this heinous cruelty, on par with daily rape, what can the false accuser expect if discovered? Probably nothing. Almost no false accuser does any meaningful time, a few months at best. Wanetta Gibson sued the school for three quarters of a million dollars and put a man in prison for 8 years. Then she confessed to a private investigator that she’d made the whole fucking thing up and didn’t say anything because she was afraid she’d have to give up the money. Guess how many days she spent in prison.

But you don’t give a fuck because you’re indifferent to the suffering of men. You can’t grasp the enormity of the pain because it’s one that will never be visited upon you. You don’t care about the inherent injustice. You just don’t give a shit.

So ya know what, fuck you.

(Edit: the original poster deleted their post.)

You dude, can Fuck off

Do you know what it’s like to be raped?

Because I do. And you know what? “unjustly, in prison for years, sometimes decades. Someone who will endure intense emotional torture, suffering, grief and anguish….Someone who will lose their friends, their family, their income. Their children, parents and former friends will look upon them in disgust. They will be branded with a scarlet letter for the rest of their natural lives.”

Is a pretty fucking accurate description of what it is like to deal with being raped.

People treat you like crap and most of the people around you don’t give a single fuck.

False accusations are a problem, yes. They make it hard for rape victims to come forward, and they make bullshit spewing assholes like you spread this idea that so many rapes are false reports, which makes people not believe them. And yes, they hurt the falsely accused. But considering ONLY THREE PERCENT OF RAPIST SPEND TIME IN JAIL, how many of those do you think are falsely accused? It takes so fucking much to get someone convicted and put in jail for rape. I’m sure the conviction of falsely accused isn’t very high. That doesn’t mean it is not a problem.

But, yes. A rapist is WAY FUCKING WORSE THAT SOMEONE WHO FALSELY ACCUSED SOMEONE.

Because having you reputation marked, is so much fucking worse than HAVING YOUR ENTIRE LIFE RIPPED APART. *sarcasm*

And considering all the fucking rape apologist in the fucking world, Nothing will probably happen to them in their social circle.

No one cares what my rapists have done. They still have friends. People still love and talk to them.

And this is the case for MANY rape survivors. My friends rapists still have friends. People fucking love them, and threaten her for trying to get emotional support help. (she never even went to the cops because no one believed her at first.)

And it’s people like YOU that make rape victims afraid to come forward.

Hate to break it to you bro, but the reason you don’t need feminism is that pesky ol’ Y chromosome of yours. Also, assuming you haven’t chopped off your dick yet; your dick. These are somewhat significant roadblocks.

The thing about this picture that really gets me though is the “Rigid Gender Roles Hurt Us All” one in the background. It’s kind of appropriate, considering that people like this are a perfect example of why a healthy society NEEDS gender roles.

Side note: I’m guessing makeup is only oppressive when you don’t need to hide how laughably unpassable you are?

Unfollow me right fucking now.

How do you reblog this picture from me and spout off such transphobic garbage. I’m pretty sure I hit multiple bingos in Transphobic Bingo. Bottom line: Fuck you.

‘laughably unpassable’

wow. Just, shit.

You don’t have to be passable to be trans*. Anyone that thinks so is ignorant and really needs to take a look at how they treat trans* people.

This is a beautiful trans* woman. She’s probably pre-op; maybe she hasn’t gotten a prescription for E yet. Or maybe she’s like me and doesn’t necessarily want a lot of hormonal therapy in her transition.

I think it’s in the trans* community that the only instance of female (at birth) privilege exists. Trans* men are privileged over trans* women because where a trans* man would be seen as effeminate, trans* women are considered “unpassable” and considered not to be real women because they still have a penis.

Not all men have penises.

Not all women have vaginas.

Loves, please remember: if a woman looks a little different, or if she’s trans*, don’t treat her as less. If you fight for women’s rights, please fight for the rights of all women.

Any decent able-bodied person who reads the article will think, “damn, I know I do some of those things. I didn’t realize they were hurtful, I’ll try and be a bit more sensitive next time”. YOU are clearly not part of that group.

Claiming that women don’t deserve to share in the blame for dressing like a whore and getting raped is retarded.
Should women be able to dress like whores and not get raped? Yeah, in the same way I should be able to make a suit out of money and not get robbed. But if I do wear that suit and get robbed, you can’t say I’m blameless for being a total fucking moron.
Is one crime worse than the other? Probably. But both of them are instances of a person defying common sense and suffering the consequences. If a person who does not heed common sense is not blameworthy, then who is?
The fact we tell women not to dress like whores to avoid rape isn’t evidence of some grand pro-rape conspiracy, or of some imaginary rape culture, it’s a common sense precaution. Of course society DOES tell us don’t rape and steal — that obviously isn’t enough to fully protect us.

i’m just doing this for the lulz. thought experiment.
if society tells us “don’t rape and steal”, does it imply that there’s a level of rich dress and behavior which constitutes sufficient provocation to robbery that, if such a person is robbed, they effectively lose their defense in court. please provide specific examples drawn from real life. we take the general case to be “people can act in ways that are so provocative as to effectively deserve particular types of response”
next step: does society condition a class of people to habitually dress and act in such a way that they skirt the border or cross the line of robbery-provokingly rich dress. does failure to adhere to this standard cause any losses, say of desirable attention, social status, employment opportunities, etc. equivalent to - drawing an example purely out of thin air for no particular reason - a woman failing to wear heels or makeup, or “act feminine.” if not, we take the general case to be “people who act in provocative ways do so basically for no reason at all except their own volition.”
next step: please prove a pussy, dick, ass, mouth, or any other body part is physically, morally, and legally equivalent to a wallet, watch, suit made of money, or any other piece of property which may be stolen. i.e. if i tattoo your lungs with “OPTIONAL” and return them to you with the breath removed, it’s not substantially different than if i tattoo your wallet with the same and return it to you with no cash in it.
next step: please post a picture of the inside of your ass with the words “MY EXISTENCE IS OPTIONAL” written on the wall of your colon in sharpie. we have already proven (see previous steps) that body parts are interchangeable with inanimate objects, and since you have behaved in a provoking way, and since you have done so for no particular reason except your own volition, you were asking for this.

So Tumblr, normally I can take insults pretty well but a recent happening (of about an hour ago) has really made my blood boil.

So I’m walking in town by myself, and a woman who was about 20 was walking in front of me. We turn a few of the same corners, so it’s obvious we’re going to the same place.

But then I realise that she keeps looking over her shoulder at me. And then she sped up a little, clinging to her bag.

It came to my attention she thought I was going to attack her.

To test my theory, I sped up a little. She noticed and sped up even more until she was practically jogging.

Now here’s a few details:

Me: Overweight 17 year old boy wearing shorts and a t-shirt with Cookie Monster on it.

Her: 20 year old woman wearing high heels and has a bag

Time of day: 2pm

Clearly I looked threatening and was going to attack her.

Inspired by the “Racism in America” youtube videos, I decided to have a little fun.

I kept picking up my pace, she kept turning around, noticing I had sped up, and in turn did the same.

Then, after making sure she was looking I suddenly started into a sprint and when I was about 3 foot away from her she screamed.

And then I ran straight past her.

I didn’t get to ser her face as I ran past, but I hoping she was incredibly embarrassed.

In retrospect, I probably should have asked her for her Social Justic blog URL…

Misandry doesn’t exist apparently, isn’t that right Tumblr?

Okay. I must be losing my mind, because, when I read this, I could have sworn that the OP really and truly believes that I should feel sorry for him for being stereotyped/victimised.

*reads again, just to make sure*

Wow. That is what I read. Unbelievable. Okay, let’s strip out of this situation your wounded sense of propriety or your offence at being so stereotyped, or whatever it was that you felt justified your actions and look at this situation neutrally: You noticed that a woman, through no fault of your own, was acting in manner that suggested she was afraid of you.

Now, there were lots of different things you could have done in this situation. You could have smiled and waved to show her that you could see her looking at you and to appear less threatening, all at once. You could have fell back a step or two so she would feel more comfortable. You could have crossed the street. You could have, in a no-doubt sincere fit of over-compensation, channelled your internal Martin Freeman. If you were truly offended, you could have approached her at that point and asked her why she felt threatened. Or you could have done nothing at all, bit your lip, and simply ignored it. Any one of those actions would have been a kinder and more human thing than what you actually did.

Because, instead, when you saw a frightened woman you did everything you could to make her more afraid. You happily played up to the predator stereotype you claim to abhor and acted in as intentionally menacing a way as you could, to, in your own words, “have a little fun” with her. You carried on to such a point, that when you ran past her, again, according to your own description, as you drew close she literally screamed with fear and panic.

And then you came online to complain about how you had been unfairly stereotyped and victimised? Seriously?

Let’s make something perfectly clear here: You were angry because you felt like you were being unfairly pre-judged. She was terrified because she thought she might be hurt or worse. Both are unpleasant things to feel, but one emotion, hers, is far, far worse than the other and you made it worse, deliberately. Make no mistake, what you did here was utterly unacceptable. Your actions were in no way just and you were not a victim here. You lost any right to claim any morality in your action when you saw that another human being was afraid of you and decided to make that person more afraid. You should be ashamed of yourself and deciding if that is the kind of man you want to be, not coming online to tell other people how bad your day was and trying to get them to justify your abhorrent behaviour.

~DreamR

OP YOU ARE THE WORST PERSON THAT EVER LIVED oh my GOD do you even realize you purposefully and enthusiastically TERRIFIED a girl who was scared for her life. you are such a useless sack of skin oh my god WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU.

men are the fucking worst. I used to avoid saying that like the plague, because I hated when anti-feminists threw that at us. “you all just hate men!!!!!”

YEAH THIS IS WHY

YOU’RE ASSES AND YOU DON’T EVEN FEEL BAD ABOUT IT

What OP saw:

A woman walking in front of you showed signs of fear because she wanted to personally victimize and insult you which she was able to do through vicious stereotypes.

What was really happening:

A woman walking in front of you knows that as a woman if she is assaulted, she will have to be able to prove that she did her best to avoid the attack, which includes being aware, paranoid, and running from even the slightest threat. A woman walking in front of you simply attempted to avoid contact with you, especially after you showed signs of harming her. She statistically could very well have been the one in four young women to have experienced a rape or attempted rape, and who probably has experienced catcalling or sexual harassment that made her feel unsafe before. Maybe her best friend or sister just told her about their own sexual assault, or maybe she is in an abusive relationship. In short, if she is a woman, she has a reason to fear you simply for being a man. And purposefully turning her fear into panic for “fun” makes you a terrible person. Maybe next time just shout “I think sexual assault is no big deal!” and she can just full out run from you from the beginning. Because that’s what you deserve.
