Don’t get offended by a Facebook page that was probably created by a twelve year old.
1) Did you notice the *171k* “likes?”
2) If it WAS a 12 year old should we still not try to address it? Kids get a misogyny pass?
3) How about not telling other people what to feel.
I think Facebook is trying to tell me something…
SIGNAL BOOST PLEASE.
yesterday, a facebook page was created titled “The Sluts Of Lorain County" in order to belittle women and teenage girls of Lorain County, Ohio. within less than 24 hours this page has gained nearly 4,000 likes and the number is growing. these pictures are being posted without these girls’ consent, and many people are identifying these girls in the comment sections by tagging them. some of these girls are as young as freshman in high school. this is both disgusting and dangerous. many of the pictures posted are just girls in halloween costumes, or in bikinis at the beach. like, excuse a girl for not wearing her fucking sweatsuit to the beach. not only is this slut-shaming and sexist, but it’s also a large form of cyber-bullying and harassment. are there any guys’ pictures posted on this page? of course not. when one woman reported the page, Facebook responded:
"Thank you for taking the time to report something that you feel may violate our Community Standards. Reports like yours are an important part of making Facebook a safe and welcoming environment. We reviewed the page you reported for harassment and found it doesn’t violate our community standard on bullying and harassment."
okay, Facebook. please explain to me what the fuck your “community standard on bullying and harassment” is then. maybe you should rethink and rewrite your standards, because i’m certain that posting pictures of people without their consent in order to accuse them of being promiscuous is, in fact, both bullying and harassment.
so please, SIGNAL BOOST AND REPORT. hell, contact Facebook directly and help them to rethink their standards. it’s fucking bullshit the way someone is treated for dressing how they want (especially when it’s for an occasion i.e. homecoming, halloween, swimming, etc.) and no one should have to be subject to slut shaming and bullying.
Wow, with the notes on Tumblr too, within a SECOND they told me it wasn’t removed. What the FUCK.
NZ Misogynist Of The Day
For too long have their wonderful words gone unnoticed, hidden in the white noise of daily life….
This Facebook page has been set up by some fellow feminists from my university in response to the large number of pages cropping up like “New Zealand Pair of the Day”, please give it a like! :D
(The Daily Dot) - Last week, Facebook defied all expectations and announced a groundbreaking new policy change in its stance regarding gender-based hate speech. The move promises an overhaul of current community guidelines and increased training for Facebook staff, but it comes only after a campaign to alert advertisers and the media to the prevalence of violent images and themes on Facebook, which often skate through censors because they appear on “humor” pages.
But not everyone is happy about the change—particularly men’s rights activists (MRAs), who claim that Facebook is giving in to a feminist threat. At MRA hub A Voice for Men (AVFM), founder Paul Elam declared that the changes were part of a sweeping feminist agenda to “ensure that their narrative is the only one allowed.”
The “narrative” in question refers to Women, Action, and the Media’s request that Facebook stop protecting “humorous” Facebook communities that actively promote violence against women.
Like this one:
Why? Because MRA websites, including A Voice for Men, have often featured images of bruised and bloodied abuse victims, often with a jokey (or not-so-jokey) caption implying that the women deserve it. The post “If You See Jezebel in the Road, Run That Bitch Down,” for example, originally ran with an image of a woman with a black eye (trigger warning: domestic abuse) and the caption “Maybe she DID have it coming.”
The MRAs are trying to make this about “free speech” what they don’t understand is that free speech only protects you from the government.
Free speech does not equal social entitlement.
Mercilessly screenshotting the comments on that “Spot Your Ex?” page and linking to the commenters’ profiles. I’ve submitted it to sexistfacebookdudes, we’ll be exposing these creeps soon.
OVER 40,000 LIKES
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
fucking piss hell shit world
i have also just found out that a FIFTEEN YEAR OLD is on this page and she has been named, fuck this
This is fucked up
And they are allowing this to stay up? Seriously what the fuck
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? Report this shit. Facebook can’t ignore us forever.
People get their posts pulled for naming and shaming rapists, but this is just good fun? Fuck the world.
I found an awful Facebook page called Exposing Australian Sluts where it looks like the admins are posting naked/nearly naked photos of girls without their consent in order to slut shame them (quite literally, that’s the purpose of the page).
Some of the girls are named, and links to their FB profiles are given. Some of them also look very clearly underage. The comments are incredibly nasty (“get a job shitc*nt”, “i hate whores”, etc.), too.
To make things even worse, the site admins are bartering off pics and videos of unwilling “slut” participants for likes.
The page was previously taken down, but seems to be back up provided the pics are “censored”; the admins, however, have a notice at the top of their page that they’ll provide the uncensored pics in a message if a person like their page.
This is fucking despicable and should be taken down. If you have a Facebook, report the page, and report individual pictures and posts as well.
Reported this page and every post in it. Several hours later, I received an email for every single one of the reports with this response from Facebook:
Thanks for your recent report of a potential violation on Facebook. After reviewing your report, we were not able to confirm that the specific page you reported violates Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities.
Learn more about what we do and don’t allow by reviewing the Facebook Community Standards: https://www.facebook.com/communitystandards.
I can’t even believe this shit. A page posts personal information and naked pictures of women (and CHILDREN) and this isn’t against their community standards? Are you fucking joking me?
That is fucking beyond disgusting.
what the actual fuck!?
come on facebook
are you serious
i feel like my blood has been replace with molten lava this made me so mad. signal boosting the FUCK outta this
THE PAGE IS GONE
THE PAGE IS GONE
can you urge your followers to go here and report this to FB? Let’s see what they do. They SAY they’re working on their policies…
Thanks for sharing! Signal boost followers. You know what to do.
@ChuckWendig: Facebook will not remove rape culture photo from its site as it doesn’t qualify as “hate speech.”
This is fucking bullshit
well, lets toss this around facebook for a bit and see how other people react…
fuck this bullshit and anyone who thinks this is ok
Some absolutely vile piece of shit just posted this on one of those stupid dickbag “liked” pages (No Hope for Humanity if I’m not mistaken - I don’t follow it but a friend pointed this out to me).
So I screencapped it.
Who should I report this to? What blogs would re-blog this and get this motherfucker called out?
TRIGGER WARNING: SOME PIECE OF SHIT ENCOURAGING HIS “BRO” TO RAPE DRUNK WOMEN
can i kill him now please????
The person who posted this is Will Conant of Fontana, California. This is his Facebook page: facebook.com/will.conant.3
God I hope any woman who’s thinking of getting involved with him (or just lives within a 500 mile radius) googles his name first.
FaceBook’s automated system wouldn’t let me create this page, but a page called ‘Rape is Simply Free Sex’ or ‘Cancer is Funny Cause it Kills People’ is just fine!
Dumbass creep thought it would be a good idea to share his “Creepshots” page on “It’s NOT rape, simply free sex.”, using his own name. I don’t care if he takes the photos or not: if you created a page where the sole purpose is to show stalker photos of women*’s asses and breasts without their permission, you deserve to be exposed for the creep you are.
So creep-shots and rape-threats are a-okay with Facebook. But women fighting back? Oh no! Can’t have some uppity ass b*tches ruining all the fun of The Dudebro Collective.
This is all kinds of fucked. Icelandic woman creates a photo album to document all the sexist shit she sees on Facebook, then this happens:
Responses to the album have been varied. Along with praise, Hildur has received a number of death threats. Last month, an Icelandic man made a public Facebook status saying, “If I ‘accidentally’ ran over Hildur, she is probably the only person on earth that I would back up over, and leave the car on top of her with the hand brake on!! Put this in your ‘men who hate Hildur’ folder, Hildur Lilliendahl.”
So she did. And now Facebook has given her a 30-day ban for posting screenshots of other people’s Facebook statuses, which is against Facebook guidelines — even when those statuses are public.
And Facebook says it’s because of their anti-bullying policy.
FUCK THAT. Because calling someone sexist is worse bullying than a death threat?
Fuck you and your blatant misogyny, Facebook.
Wasn’t I also just hearing yesterday about a woman who, when she reported a terribly sexist page (one of upskirt photos ones, I think I recall?) she was the one who ended up getting banned for supposedly having two facebook pages or not using her real name or something? And the page she reported is still up?
I mean, it doesn’t seem facebook ever takes down those really awful pages that I’ve reported (and know many of you have) so… I don’t know what else I expected.
Spending a few minutes on the Facebook page “It’s NOT rape, simply free sex” [Huge trigger warning for the page] is a hard thing to do without wanting to puke. I decided to have a look at the people who had ‘liked’ the rape-related memes and posts, and here’s what I found:
What do you notice in common about these people (aside from the ones with very little information and non-human DPs)?
Why am I not surprised.
Edit: “Thanks for your recent report of a potential violation on Facebook. After reviewing your report, we were not able to confirm that the specific page you reported violates Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities.”
FUCK. YOU. FACEBOOK.
Here’s another fuckface to be exposed:
