I don’t understand schools.

If you have a broken leg you don’t have to do PE, but if you have social anxiety you’re forced to do public speaking

[tw: self-harm, suicide]

a person in my life told me that they used to drink dishwashing liquid to make themselves so sick so they could avoid having to do speeches at school

this is not okay

"The problem is that you don’t just choose recovery. You have to keep choosing recovery, over and over and over again. You have to make that choice 5-6 times each day. You have to make that choice even when you really don’t want to. It’s not a single choice, and it’s not easy."

this is how I learned to stop doing it, people should reblog this.

this is actually important

Hey look self harm advice that acknowledges that there’s more than two reasons that people do it
applauds

Seems good for many types of self harm, not just cutting. I wonder if any of this stuff would work with trichotillomania.

for all my followers

I’m here for every single one of you. You are NOT alone. Message me if you feel like you are.

I reckon that there are more people who self-harm than people realize, coz the average person assumes that self-harm = cutting wrists, when in reality it can be a whole number of things. I refused to label what I did as “self-harm/injury” for a long time for this reason. But I do self-harm, and my heart goes out to every one of you who struggles with it.
